For the GS-7:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as one or more of the following:
reviewed and updated a variety of printed material; coordinated production of material and its distribution; performed rewrites of submitted official documents and other written materials; provided editorial and general assistance in preparing scripts, press releases, exhibit text, labels, and articles; generates original material for writing projects, such as NEPA documents and outreach materials. OR one full year of graduate level education; OR an appropriate combination of graduate level education and specialized experience; OR Superior Academic Achievement (go to this site determine if you are eligible:

//www.opm.gov/qualifications/policy/ApplicationOfStds-04.asp). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. For the GS-9:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as one or more of the following:
coordinated review of material by subject-matter experts; consulted on the composition and development of a variety of printed material generated by other staff (e.g. informational flyers, brochures, conference instructional material, exhibit text, exhibit labels, etc.); incorporated content developed by subject-matter experts who are not trained as writers into final written products; reviewed and edited documents for clarity, grammatical accuracy, cohesiveness; provided both written and oral guidance on the extent of work needed; generates original material to write a wide variety of environmental analysis and decision documents, public comments, meeting notes, technical reports, outreach materials, and other scientific publications. OR a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
